The calculation of carbon dioxide emissions by any individuals or any businesses in the environment is called a carbon footprint. The carbon footprint consists of two parts
● Primary footprint
● Secondary footprint
Read
below to know what is carbon footprint in
detail.
Primary footprint
Measuring
the emission of carbon dioxide caused due to the burning of fossil fuels is
called the primary footprint.
Secondary footprint
Measuring
of emission of carbon dioxide caused due to products life cycle is called the
secondary footprint.
Carbon audit
The
process of measuring the emission of carbon during the procedure of converting
raw materials into a product that can be used by the consumers is called a
carbon audit. Carbon emission is measured at every step of the manufacturing
and then at last carbon footprint of that product is calculated. The emission
of carbon in any companies during the office days by electrical appliances or
any other emission while visiting the office or during the manufacturing
process or packaging is called companies footprint.
