Medicare creates health insurance plans which are
advertised and sold by companies. Medicare
Advantage Plans is a set of such plans created by Medicare. One should go
through all the plans and carefully decide the plan they wanna buy.

We can’t have a common List
of Medicare advantage plans as their types vary
from state to state. We prefer a List of Medicare Advantage plans by State. For Florida, the types
are:

Health Management Organisation (HMO) Plans:
All services except:

Emergency care

Out-of-area urgent care
·
Out-of-area dialysis
·
Preferred Provider Organisation (PPO) Plans:
These plans have a network of doctors, healthcare providers, and hospitals. One
pays less if they contact the healthcare provider in the network. One may go
outside the network but will need to pay more.

Private Free-For-Service (PFFS) Plans: This
plan decides how much it will pay the healthcare provider and how much the
person getting the facilities must pay.

Special Needs Plan (SNP): These are just like
HMO or PPO but include some special advantages for those suffering from some special kind of
disease or illness.
Each of these Medicare advantages plans works
differently. You can buy these from private companies. Some companies which sell these include igna,
Aetna, Mutual of Omaha, AARP.
