Rock music started gaining a huge following from then on. Rock n roll is not just music, it's a religion was the motto of mainstream rock music followers of the 50s and 60s. Musically, rock music is centered around an electric guitar, bass, drums and vocals. Mostly rock songs have a 4/4 time signature with power chords, catchy choruses and strong verses.
